Before Lace Cottage came to be, our founder Raquel studied Environmental Design while also working full time as an Interior Designer. She learned to think in terms of space, longevity, and materials chosen for how they age over time. Surrounded by natural fibers, thoughtful craftsmanship, and objects made to be lived with and cherished, she developed a deep respect for quality and intention that have shaped her approach to clothing.
Fashion entered her world through a different lens. Drawn to early runway, the flapper era, and romantic films, she fell in love with silhouettes that felt expressive yet effortless. Pure silks, fluid lines, and garments designed to move with the body offered the same sense of atmosphere and emotion she once created in interiors. As she began sourcing fabrics and studying product design more closely, it became clear that clothing could be approached with the same care as a well designed space.
Soon after graduation, the disconnect between quality, intention, and price in the market became impossible to ignore. She set out to create Lace Cottage, a brand inspired by the same cinematic romance and vintage heirlooms that had lived in her dreams, and grounded in the belief that what we wear should be made with the same thoughtfulness and integrity as the spaces we inhabit.
